Sapņu komanda – 1934

The band was formed while working on the creation of a soundtrack for the movie "Dream Team 1934", the band performs in the style of Dixieland, which is a distinctive sound of the 30th. Some major Latvian musicians were invited to take part in the project. Suddenly, from the very first notes during the record session the band was born and it's unique sound is represented in a movie.

Well started project had to go on and the band created a special concert program that consists not only of well known jazz tunes, but also from some modern hits in new and unexpected arrangements. The band unites well known musicians with experience of working with a vast amount of other ensembles and projects.

The leader of the Dixieland Indrikis Veitners is a teacher and the head of jazz department of Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music and also a researcher of the history of Jazz in Latvia. A pianist, arranger and composer Madars Kalnins is also a teacher at Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music and currently is working on a solo album. One of the best Latvian trumpeters Normunds Piesis together with an experienced trombonist Lauris Amantovs, the head of "Mirage Jazz Orchestra" form a powerful brass tandem. A famous Latvian double bass player Andris Grunte, one of the best drummers of new generation Artis Orubs and a banjo player Bruno Priekulis form a solid swinging rhythm section, making the band sound so brilliant.
